From Syyn to Zyyn
Nicknamed “The League of Extraordinary Nerds” by Fast Company magazine, Syyn Labs was founded in 2010 by a conglomeration of self-proclaimed nerds, who wanted to dedicate their talents towards creating jaw-dropping commissions simply because of the love for a challenge.
Our company quickly gained notoriety for production of OK Go's award-winning, viral Rube Goldberg machine video “This Too Shall Pass”, surpassing 70 million views to date. We now boast 30+ members, comprised from a diverse range of backgrounds, including: technology, engineering, computer science, robotics, geology, architecture, science, performing arts, and more.
At the helm since inception, converting this once untamed, eclectic group from a simple mindshare to world-renowned one-stop production company: Adam Sadowsky. A serial entrepreneur who started in the video-game and tech business, Adam launched Syyn Labs to rapid success using his coveted ability whereby he could harness creative workaholics, focus their unique expertise, and perfectly balance members' need for fulfillment with the clients' desire for perfection.
Adam's legacy continues after his untimely passing in 2021, with the reins taken up by Zach Umperovitch. A long-standing Syyn team member, serving more often than not as Creative Lead, Zach's endeavors have earned him the accolade "World's Leading Authority on Chain Reaction / Rube Goldberg machines."
Three-time Guinness World Records breaker, Creator & Co-Host of Discovery's "Contraption Masters," Co-Author of "How to Rube" alongside Rube's own granddaughter, Jennifer George, and a lifetime devoted towards overcoming Murphy's Law - who better to continue Adam's life work than someone equally dedicated to demonstrating the beauty when kinetic art plus science collides.
Ushering in a new era whilst paying respect to Adam's estate, we've rebranded from Syyn to Zyyn. We strive to retain the same core values of promoting not only interaction & inspiration, but amazement as well. From clients to consumers, our goal is to create the look of wonderment in everyone's eyes.
Through our partnership with Slash Dynamic, a WBENC-certified woman-owned company, they have become the marketing production arm of ZyynLabs. Slash is a Hollywood heavy-hitter with an amazing track record of huge successes and are known experts at creating commercials and branded content.
Together we represent an incredible roster of award-winning filmmakers with unmatched capabilities. And for filmmakers, the partnership has created a comprehensive ecosystem and management structure across the media landscape.
Additionally, Slash Dynamic rules the automotive content category with their dedicated unit, Slash Auto, whose in-house creative team most recently led advertising creative for Nissan at TBWA\Chiat\ Day\NY.
